Matalia () was a town of ancient Crete near the headland of Matala (ÃÂìÃÂñûñ), and probably the same place as the port and naval arsenal of Gortyna called Metallum or Metallon (ÃÂÃÂÃÂñûûÿý) by Strabo.
Its site is located near modern Matala.
