Mahmud Shah I of Kedah

Paduka Sri Sultan Mahmud Shah I ibni al-Marhum Sultan Muzzil Shah (Jawi: ÃÂ¤ÃÂ¯ÃÂÃÂ ÃÂ³ÃÂ±ÃÂ ÃÂ³ÃÂÃÂ·ÃÂ§ÃÂ ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ¯ ÃÂ´ÃÂ§ÃÂ ÃÂ¡ ÃÂ§ÃÂ¨ÃÂ ÃÂ§ÃÂÃÂÃÂ±ÃÂÃÂÃÂ ÃÂ³ÃÂÃÂ·ÃÂ§ÃÂ ÃÂÃÂ²ÃÂ¹ÃÂ ÃÂ´ÃÂ§ÃÂ; died 22 May 1321) was the fifth Sultan of Kedah and reigned from 1280 to 1321. He ordered the construction of Kota Seputih and Kota Di Hulu Sungai Merpah as a fortress from the Tenasserim tribe.
