Pop Shock Culture's Katherine Dacey commends the manga for "emphasizing steamy encounters between beautiful men in period costume over long-winded political discussions". Mania.com's Nadia Oxford commends Fumi Yoshinaga's artwork but criticises the backgrounds that "remain disappointingly sparse".
