In 2023, Mississippi had a total summer capacity of 14,833 MW through all of its power plants, and a net generation of 72,933 GWh. In 2024, the electrical energy generation mix was 76.9% natural gas, 14.4% nuclear, 4.5% coal, 2.1% solar, 1.7% biomass, and 0.5% wind.
