Re-education through labor (RTL; in Chinese, laodong jiaoyang å³å¨æÂÂå », abbreviated láojiào 峿ÂÂ) is a system of administrative detentions in the People's Republic of China. The estimated number of detainees in re-education through labor camps is anywhere from 300,000 to 2 million. According to Amnesty international in 2021 up to 2 million, Baptist press estimates more than 3 million are subject to re-education through labor. There are at least 310 camps in China.
