Dorohedoro is an anime television series adaptation of the manga of the same name by Q Hayashida, first announced in the December 2018 issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Shà Ânen Sunday magazine released on November 12, 2018. The series is produced by MAPPA and directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, with series composition by Hiroshi Seko, character designs by Tomohiro Kishi, and music composed by R.O.N of (K)NoW_NAME. It ran for 12 episodes from January 13 to March 30, 2020, on Tokyo MX.
Dorohedoro was released on May 28, 2020, on Netflix outside of Japan. The six short episodes were also made available on Netflix on October 15, 2020, as one long singular episode, labeled as episode 13.
A sequel streaming series was announced on January 9, 2024. The sequel was later revealed to be a second season, which was originally scheduled for 2025, but was later delayed. It premiered on April 1, 2026.
For the first season, the opening theme is "Welcome to Chaos", and the ending themes are "Who Am I ?" ( 1, 2 and 7), "Night Surfing" ( 3 and 4), "D.D.D.D." ( 5 and 6), "Strange Meat Pie" ( 8 and 9), "Seconds Fly" ( 10 and 11), and "404" ( 12); all themes were performed by (K)NoW_NAME. The six OVA episodes were bundled with the series' second Blu-ray release on June 17, 2020. For the second season, the opening theme is , and the ending theme is , both performed again by (K)NoW_NAME.
