Las Flores had its start in 1916 as a railroad community.

Las Flores first appeared as a census designated place in the 2010 U.S. census after the Gerber-Las Flores CDP was split into the Gerber CDP and Las Flores CDP, with additional area added.

The racial makeup of Las Flores was 96 (50.5%) White, 0 (0.0%) African American, 6 (3.2%) Native American, 2 (1.1%) Asian, 0 (0.0%) Pacific Islander, 62 (32.6%) from other races, and 24 (12.6%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 106 persons (55.8%).
The whole population lived in households.
