Lake Barrington is located on the shores of Lake Barrington, which was previously called Indian Lake.

The racial makeup of the village was 88.65% White, 0.65% African American, 0.10% Native American, 4.59% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.84% from other races, and 5.18% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.59% of the population.
