The Toei à Âedo Line station opened on 12 December 2000. The Hanzà Âmon Line station opened on 19 March 2003.
The station facilities of the Hanzà Âmon Line were inherited by Tokyo Metro after the privatization of the Teito Rapid Transit Authority (TRTA) in 2004.
In fiscal 2013, the Tokyo Metro station was the least used on the Hanzà Âmon line and the 78th-busiest on the Tokyo Metro network as a whole with an average of 47,192 passengers daily. The least used station by far is Nishigahara station on the Namboku line. Over the same fiscal year, the Toei station was used by an average of 17,430 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).
