Kakabai is an Austronesian language spoken in Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea.
Phonology
- The labialized consonants /p÷ b÷ m÷ k÷ g÷/ only appear before /a/.
- /l/ varies dialectally between [ú~þ~l].
- /ã/ is realized as [ÃÂ~h] before front vowels.
- /m/ can appear syllabically.
Stress is usually found on the penultimate syllable.
