âÂÂKabhreâ likely refers to the district or region of Kavrepalanchok. âÂÂSthaliâ means place, land, or settlement. Therefore, Kabhresthali can be interpreted as âÂÂthe place related to Kabhreâ or âÂÂthe land associated with Kabhre.âÂÂ
Kabhre (à ¤Âà ¤¾à ¤Âà ¥Âà ¤°à ¥Â) is a regional toponym, referring to Kavrepalanchok district, likely of Tibeto-Burman/Newar substrate origin, later Sanskritized. Sthali (à ¤¸à ¥Âà ¤¥à ¤²à ¥Â) means âÂÂplace, site, landâ and comes from Sanskrit à ¤¸à ¥Âà ¤¥à ¤² (sthala) meaning ground, place. The toponym Kabhresthali is thus a compound name, meaning âÂÂland associated with Kabhre,â reflecting a historical or administrative link with the Kavre area.
