K'ani

K'ani, or Kan (Asomtavruli: ; Nuskhuri: ; Mkhedruli: კ, Mtavruli: Კ; ) is the 11th letter of the three Georgian scripts.

In the system of Georgian numerals, it has a value of 20. K'ani represents a velar ejective stop /kʼ/. As an ejective consonant, the airstream in its pronunciation is not produced in the lungs, but in the glottis. In the Georgian language, it is distinct from a non-ejective velar consonant, represented by the letter Kani. It is typically romanized with the letter K, K’, Ḳ or Ķ.
