The federation organizes national tournaments and represents Japanese amateur boxing in international competitions. Its headquarters are located in Shinjuku, Tokyo.
The Japan Boxing Federation was established in 1926 to oversee and promote amateur boxing in Japan. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, the federation expanded its activities by organizing national championships and forming regional associations. It has continued to work with the Japanese Olympic Committee to align domestic boxing with international standards.
