History

The foundation of Jan Adhikar Manch is closely associated with the social and political legacy of Mahadeepak Singh Shakya, a six-time Member of Parliament from Etah. Shakya used this platform to advocate for the rights of backward classes and marginalized communities in the Braj region. Throughout his career, he remained a key figure in mobilizing public opinion on social welfare through the Manch.

Objectives and focus

The organization operates on the following core principles:

  • Equal Education: Advocating for a uniform education system for all citizens to bridge the gap between different economic classes.
  • Farmers' Welfare: Organizing representation for fair crop pricing, debt relief, and better irrigation facilities in Western Uttar Pradesh.
  • Social Representation: Ensuring the participation of all communities in proportion to their population in various governmental and social sectors.

Activities

The organization has a strong presence in the Kasganj district and Etah district. It regularly organizes 'Jan Sabhas' (public meetings) and rallies to address administrative accountability and the improvement of healthcare and infrastructure in rural areas.
