Shahid Beheshti University

Shahid Beheshti University is a public research university located in Tehran, Iran. Founded in 1960 as the National University of Iran, it has 3 campuses, 19 faculties, 10 research institutes and 9 research centres, and is situated on a 60-hectare land in the Evin neighborhood in northern Tehran.

History

Shahid Beheshti University has been sanctioned by governments in the EU, US, Australia, Canada, and Switzerland for their links to Iran's nuclear program. This restricts business and financial transactions with the university, in some cases including its students.
