The station is served by the Nishitetsu Tenjin à Âmuta Line and is 6.1 kilometers from the starting point of the line at Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station.
The station consists of two opposed side platforms connected by a footbridge.
The station was opened on 12 April 1924.
In fiscal 2022, the station was used by 20,625 passengers daily.
