The Governor of Bihar is the nominal head of the Indian state of Bihar. The governor is appointed by the President of India. Syed Ata Hasnain is the current governor of Bihar. Former President Zakir Husain and Ram Nath Kovind were two such governors of Bihar who succeeded on to become the President of India. Zakir Hussain was earlier succeeded to become the Vice President of India . A total of 45 governors has served in the state. From 2014 till 2023, the governors who served at that interval, all belonged from the state of Uttar Pradesh, i.e. Keshari Nath Tripathi (2014- 2015), Ram Nath Kovind , Keshari Nath Tripathi (Jun- Oct 2017), Satya Pal Malik (2017- 2018), Lalji Tandon (2018- 2019) and Phagu Chauhan (2019- 2023). Then, Rajendra Arlekar came to power in 2023 and continued till 2025, but he belonged from the state of Goa.
