Gmina Szamocin is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Chodzieà ¼ County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Szamocin, which lies approximately east of Chodzieà ¼ and north of the regional capital Poznaà Â.
The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 7,292 (out of which the population of Szamocin amounts to 4,267, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 3,025).
Apart from the town of Szamocin, Gmina Szamocin contains the villages and settlements of Antoniny, Atanazyn, Borówki, Borowo, Heliodorowo, Jaktorówko, Jaktorowo, Józefowice, Józefowo, Józefy, Kosarzyn, Laskowo, Leà Âniczówka, Lipa, Lipia Góra, Mielimàka, Nadolnik, Naà ÂÃÂcza, Nowy Dwór, Nowy Mà Âyn, Pià Âka, Raczyn, à Âluza-Krostkowo, Sokolec, Strzelczyki, Swoboda, Szamoty and Weà Ârednik.
Gmina Szamocin is bordered by the gminas of Biaà Âoà Âliwie, Chodzieà ¼, Goà Âaà Âcz, Margonin, Miasteczko Krajeà Âskie and Wyrzysk.
