Gmina Poniec is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Gostyà  County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Poniec, which lies approximately south-west of Gostyà  and south of the regional capital Poznaà Â.
The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 7,866 (out of which the population of Poniec amounts to 2,875, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 4,991).
Apart from the town of Poniec, Gmina Poniec contains the villages and settlements of Bàczylas, Bogdanki, Czarkowo, Drzewce, DziÃÂczyna, DziÃÂczynka, Franciszkowo, Grodzisko, Janiszewo, Kopanie, à ÂÃÂka Maà Âa, Maciejewo, Miechcin, Rokosowo, Sarbinowo, à Âmià Âowo, Szurkowo, Teodozewo, Waszkowo, Wà Âostki, Wydawy, Zawada and à »ytowiecko.
Gmina Poniec is bordered by the gminas of Bojanowo, Gostyà Â, Krobia, Krzemieniewo, Miejska Górka and Rydzyna.
