Gmina Kà Âecko is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Gniezno County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Kà Âecko, which lies approximately north-west of Gniezno and north-east of the regional capital Poznaà Â.
The gmina covers an area of , and as of 2006 its total population is 7,569 (out of which the population of KÃ Âecko amounts to 2,677, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 4,892).
During the German Invasion of Poland in 1939, German soldiers mass murdered 23 Poles in the area. The victims were either shot, beaten to death with rifles or stabbed to death by bayonets by German soldiers. They were later buried in a mass grave.
Apart from the town of Kà Âecko, Gmina Kà Âecko contains the villages and settlements of Bielawy, Biskupice, Bojanice, Brzozogaj, Charbowo, Czechy, DÃÂbnica, Dziaà Âyà Â, DzieÃÂmiarki, Gorzuchowo, Kamieniec, Komorowo, Kopydà Âowo, Michalcza, Polska Wieà Â, Pomarzany, Pruchnowo, Sulin, à Âwiniary, Uà Âanowo, Waliszewo, Wilkowyja and Zakrzewo.
Gmina Kà Âecko is bordered by the gminas of Gniezno, Kiszkowo, à Âubowo, Mieleszyn, Mieà Âcisko and Skoki.
