On 13 September 2025, his father who was 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo responded the allegation of Gibran's fake high school diploma, he stated that Jokowi's diploma questioned, Gibran's diploma questioned, later Jan Ethes' diploma would also be questioned.
