CocorÃÂÃÂtii ColÃÂ is a commune in Prahova County, Muntenia, Romania. It is composed of eight villages: CheÃÂnoiu, CocorÃÂÃÂtii ColÃÂ, CocorÃÂÃÂtii Grind, ColÃÂu de Jos, Ghioldum, PerÃÂunari, Piatra, and Satu de Sus. Until 2004, these belonged to MÃÂneÃÂti Commune, when they were split off to form a separate commune.
The commune is situated in the Wallachian Plain, on the banks of the rivers Prahova and Cricovul Dulce. The two rivers are connected by the Iazul Morilor Prahova, an old artificial canal built for a succession of water mills, which starts near FloreÃÂti and flows into the Cricovul Dulce near Ghioldum village.
CocorÃÂÃÂtii Colàis located at the southwestern extremity of Prahova County, from the county seat, PloieÃÂti, on the border with DâmboviÃÂa County. It is crossed by the national road DN1A, which connects Bucharest, to the south, to PloieÃÂti through Buftea. This road intersects here with the county road DJ101A, which leads south to Periàand north to MÃÂneÃÂti, where it ends in .
