Georgy Ivanovich Gushchenko (Russian: ÃÂõþÃÂóøù ÃÂòðýþòøàÃÂÃÂÃÂõýúþ; 2 March 1931 â 8 January 2024) was a Russian rower who represented the Soviet Union. He competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki with the men's coxed four where they were eliminated in the semi-final repêchage. He competed at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne with the men's eight where they were eliminated in the semi-final. Gushchenko died on 8 January 2024, at the age of 92.
