Gahnia vitiensis is a tussock-forming perennial in the family Cyperaceae, that is native to Fiji, the Samoan Islands, and the Hawaiian Islands.
Two subspecies are accepted.
- Gahnia vitiensis subsp. kauaiensis (synonym Gahnia kauaiensis ) â Hawaiian Islands (Kauai)
- Gahnia vitiensis subsp. vitiensis â Fiji and the Samoan Islands
