Fran KaraÃÂiÃÂ (; born 12 May 1996) is a professional soccer player who plays as a right back for Osijek, on loan from Hajduk Split. Born in Croatia, he plays for the Australia national team.
On 14 January 2021, KaraÃÂiÃÂ joined Serie B side Brescia on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
After departing Brescia at the end of the 2022âÂÂ23 season which ended with relegation to Serie C, KaraÃÂiàspent the rest of 2023 without a club before signing with Rudeà ¡ on 31 January 2024.
KaraÃÂiàwould leave Rudeà ¡ at the end of the 2023âÂÂ24 season to rejoin his first professional club Lokomotiva, eventually becoming captain of the side after six months.
On 8 July 2025, KaraÃÂiàjoined Hajduk Split until the end of the 2027âÂÂ28 season.
In January 2026, KaraÃÂiàmoved on loan from Hajduk Split to Osijek until the end of the 2025âÂÂ26 season, with an option to make the transfer permanent.
Karacic was eligible to represent Croatia or Australia due to his father being born in Sydney.
In May 2018, KaraÃÂiÃÂ was named in Australia's preliminary 26-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. On 25 May 2018, he was officially cleared by FIFA to represent Australia. KaraÃÂiÃÂ was later cut from the final squad.
KaraÃÂiÃÂ was called up to the Australian squad again for a series of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying games in June 2021, where he made his international debut against Kuwait.
He was named in Australia's squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November 2022, making two appearances against Tunisia and eventual champions Argentina as Australia were knocked out by the latter.
KaraÃÂiÃÂ would not be called up to the national team after the World Cup for the next two and a half years owing to his club situation before being called up in March 2025 for Australia's crucial World Cup qualifiers against Indonesia and China, where he came off the bench in both games as Australia took big steps towards qualification by winning both games.
