Flavobacterium rivulicola is a Gram-negative aerobic, non-motile and rod-shaped bacterium in the family Flavobacteriaceae. It was isolated from a freshwater stream in South Korea and formally described as a new species in 2024.
Flavobacterium rivulicola forms yellow-pigmented colonies on agar. Cells are non-spore-forming and non-motile bacilli. It grows at temperatures between 10âÂÂ37â¯ðC, within a pH range of 6.0âÂÂ9.0, and tolerates up to 0.5% NaCl (w/v).
