Firehawk is a 1993 American-Philippine film directed by Cirio H. Santiago and starring Martin Kove. The film was shot in the Philippines.
During the Vietnam War, a small team of soldiers attempt to retrieve the firehawk device.
According to TV Guide, "The three central performances, by Salinger, Carson, and top-billed Kove, are strong, if unexceptional. The direction... is strictly routine, and the action scenes, in which the Americans (who are never short of ammunition) mow down hordes of enemy soldiers, repetitive."
Reviewer R.D Francis of B&S About Movies wrote, "you know how it all goes: Lots of huts obliterated. Lots of explosions. Lots of stock footage recycling. Lots of bodies fall to the ground in hails of bullets. But you also get pretty solid acting from everyone â Kove's really good â and all of the expected, solid action we expect from CirioâÂÂs Corman-backed war coffers."
