FPJ Panday Bayanihan

FPJ Panday Bayanihan is a foundation which has secured party-list representation at the House of Representatives of the Philippines.

History

FPJ Panday Bayanihan was organized by daughter of actor Fernando Poe Jr. (FPJ), Grace Poe in 2013 as a foundation. It was established as a response to Tropical Storm Trami (Maring).

FPJ Panday Bayanihan took part at the 2025 election, with Grace Poe's son and co-founder Brian Poe Llamanzares named as the group's first nominee. Poe's husband was also among the group's nominees. The second nominee was Batangas contractor Mark Patron. FPJ Panday Bayanihan won a seat.

During the campaign, Brian Poe Llamanzares received campaign donations from government contractors Maynard Ngu and Joseph Quirante. Ngu was the alleged bagman of Senator Francis Escudero in the 2025-2026 flood control projects scandal in the Philippines. The Philippine Omnibus Election Code bans candidates from receiving campaign donations from contractors.

Name

Its name is a reference to the FPJ-starring film Ang Panday and the concept of bayanihan (communal work). After the Commission on Election introduced plans to ban groups running under a name shared with those of government aid programs and television series at the conclusion of the election, the group said that "FPJ" in their name officially stands for "food, progress, and justice". "FPJ" is noted to be the initials of Fernando Poe Jr.
