Erwinia pyrifoliae is a Gram-negative bacterium and a phytopathogen of Asian pear trees (Pyrus pyrifolia), causing necrotic disease. Its type strain is Ep16/96<sup>T</sup>(=CFBP 4172<sup>T</sup> =DSM 12163<sup>T</sup>.
