Elijah Isaiah Pierick is an American pastor, counselor, author, and politician serving as a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives, representing District 39 since 2022. His district encompasses Royal Kunia, Village Park, Waipahu, Ewa Beach, Honouliuli, and Ho'opili.
He won the seat in the 2022 election against Democratic opponent Corey Rosenlee. Pierick is currently serving on the Consumer Protection & Commerce, Housing, and Transportation committees.
Pierick was raised in Ewa, Hawaii. He attended Pacific Rim Christian University where he obtained his undergraduate degree in Bible & Christian Ministry in 2019 and Master of Arts, Christian Studies, and Master of Divinity in 2020. In 2022 Pierick received his Doctor of Ministry with a concentration in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University. He completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education and holds certifications in suicide prevention, coaching, and chaplaincy.
Pierick has been a referee for youth and adult flag football and soccer and Assistant Student Life Coordinator at Pacific Rim Christian University. PierickâÂÂs career includes extensive chaplaincy and community roles. He served as a chaplain candidate and officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and worked as chaplain and spiritual coordinator at Bristol Hospice in Honolulu. He has also held pastoral leadership positions at Encounter Church and at the Airmen Sailor Worship Service at Joint Base Pearl HarborâÂÂHickam.
Pierick has been adjunct Faculty at Bible Institute of Hawaii since 2021 and was adjunct Faculty at KingâÂÂs School of Ministry in Maui in 2022, 2023, and Nui Vally in 2024. Pierick is currently Adjunct Faculty with Pacific Rim Christian University since 2022 and with Angelo Bible Collage since 2022.
Rep. Pierick currently works as an independent contractor with SonderMind, Rula Health, and Rapha Healing Center, providing counseling focused on trauma, relationships, and emotional well-being. He is also the Owner and Operator of Better Counseling Center, where he offers personalized, faith-informed therapy for individuals, couples, and families.
Pierick completed officer training at the U.S. Air ForceâÂÂs Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base in 2020 and served as a chaplain candidate and officer in the Air Force Reserve at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, from 2019 to 2023. In that role he provided pastoral care to Airmen, Guardians, and their families; advised leadership on ethical and religious issues; and led invocations and worship services. He also championed spiritual resiliency initiatives, helped establish a spiritual fitness center, and coordinated community engagement efforts for service members.
