Romero was born in Puerto Rico. Her grandmother was a musical performer. She is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA).
Romero's first national tour was SIX; she was cast as Katherine Howard. In December 2023, she assumed the role on Broadway.
