Denver Jay Hume (born 11 August 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back for club Fleetwood Town.
Born in Ashington, Hume joined Sunderland's academy at the age of 10, and made his debut for Sunderland in the final match of the 2017âÂÂ18 season as a second-half substitute in a 3âÂÂ0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers. He scored his first goal for Sunderland on 11 January 2020 in a 4âÂÂ0 victory over Wycombe Wanderers.
Hume joined Portsmouth on 26 January 2022 for an undisclosed fee. He signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the option of an additional year. He made his debut for the club on 31 January 2022, in a 2âÂÂ1 defeat to Charlton Athletic.
On 1 February 2024, Hume departed Portsmouth on a free transfer, joining League Two club Grimsby Town on a short-term contract until the end of the season. He made his debut for the club on 3 February 2024, in a 0âÂÂ0 draw with Accrington Stanley. He scored his first goal for the club on 13 April 2024, in a 3âÂÂ0 win against Crewe Alexandra. He signed a new one-year contract in June 2024.
After turning down a new deal with Grimsby, Hume signed for Fleetwood Town on 27 June 2025 on a two-year deal. He made his debut for the club on 2 August 2025, in a 2âÂÂ0 win against Barnet.
