Dentalium nanum is a tusk shell of the family Dentaliidae, endemic to New Zealand waters. The Dentalium shell was traditionally used for decorative purposes by MÃÂori, such as rings and necklaces, and has typically found at archaeological sites around the Coromandel Peninsula.
