ÃÂặng VÃÂn Chân (é§æÂÂçÂÂ, ?–?), or ÃÂặng VÃÂn Trấn (é§æÂÂé®), was an admiral of the Tây Sán dynasty, Vietnam.
Chân was an admiral, his position was ÃÂô úy thá»§y quân ("Navy Commandant"). He attacked Gia ÃÂá»Ânh (modern Ho Chi Minh City) several times. After the captured of Gia ÃÂá»Ânh, he was left there to assist Trðáng VÃÂn ÃÂa. In 1785, Siamese forces invaded Gia ÃÂá»Ânh, he was sent to Quy Nhán for help. He joined the Battle of Rạch Gầm-Xoài Mút, and defeated Siamese forces. Nguyá» n Huá» retreated from Cochinchina, and left Chân in Gia ÃÂá»Ânh.
A civil war broke out between Nguyá» n Nhạc and Nguyá» n Huá» in 1787, he joined Nhạc's side. Huá» besieged Quy Nhán, he led the main forces to support Nhạc. Getting the information, Nguyá» n ÃÂnh returned to Vietnam. Chân was defeated and captured by Huá»Â, and later surrendered to Huá»Â. After the Battle of Ngá»Âc Há»Âi-ÃÂá»Âng ÃÂa, Huá» attempted to find a peaceful solution with Qing China. Chân was sent to China as a member of the diplomatic corps.
Quy Nhán was attacked by Nguyá» n lord in 1793. Nguyá» n Nhạc was defeated, and asked for Toản's help. An army under Phạm Công Hðng, Ngô VÃÂn Sá»Â, Nguyá» n VÃÂn Huấn and Lê Trung was sent to reinforce Quy Nhán. In the same time, Chân led 50 ships to assist them. They forced Nguyá» n army to retreat.
