Coniferin beta-glucosidase

The enzyme coniferin β-glucosidase () catalyzes the following chemical reaction:

coniferin + H2O <small>D</small>-glucose + coniferol

It belongs to the family of hydrolases, specifically those glycosidases that hydrolyse O- and S-glycosyl compounds. The systematic name is coniferin β-<small>D</small>-glucosidase. It is also called coniferin-hydrolyzing β-glucosidase. It participates in phenylpropanoid biosynthesis.
