BistriÃÂa BârgÃÂului () is a commune in BistriÃÂa-NÃÂsÃÂud County, Transylvania, Romania. It is composed of two villages, BistriÃÂa BârgÃÂului and ColibiÃÂa (Kolibica).
The commune is located in the eastern part of the county, on the border with Mureàand Suceava counties. It lies on the banks of the river BistriÃÂa (sometimes referred to as BistriÃÂa ardeleanàor Bistricioara), nestled between the BârgÃÂu Mountains to the north and the CÃÂlimani Mountains to the south.
National road (part of European route E58) connects BistriÃÂa BârgÃÂului to the county seat, BistriÃÂa, to the west, and to Vatra Dornei, to the east. There is also a train station, which serves the CFR Line 406, that runs to and on to the town of LuduÃÂ.
ColibiÃÂa is the site of , a reservoir that has become a tourist attraction. The lake was formed by a hydroelectric dam built between 1977 and 1991. BistriÃÂa BârgÃÂului is also part of the Via Transilvanica long-distance trail.
At the 2021 census, the commune had a population of 4,193; of those, 92.7% were ethnic Romanians.
