Chrustenice is a municipality and village in Beroun District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,100 inhabitants.
The initial name of the village was ChrustÃÂnice. The name was derived from the personal name ChrustÃÂn, meaning "the village of ChrustÃÂn's people".
Chrustenice is located about northeast of Beroun and southwest of Prague. It lies in the Kà Âivoklát Highlands. The highest point is the hill Hà Âeben at above sea level. The LodÃÂnice River flows through the municipality.
The first written mention of Chrustenice is in a deed of Duke Bretislav I from 1037.
In 1907âÂÂ1965, iron ore was mined in the municipality.
The D5 motorway from Prague to Plzeà  briefly crosses the municipality in the west.
There are no protected cultural monuments in the municipality.
A tourist destination is Chrustenická à ¡achta ('Chrustenice shaft'). It is an exhibition of mining technology in the former iron ore mine.
The former mine in Chrustenice is a popular film location. Among the TV series that were shot here are The Land Gone Wild (1996âÂÂ2001) and Neviditelnà(2014).
