Ushkonyr (, ÃÂà Âqoñyr), formerly known as Shamalgan (, à ÂamalÃÂan) or Chemolgan (), is a rural community near Almaty in Kazakhstan. It is notable as the birthplace of former Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev.
