Charles S. Hyneman (1900âÂÂ1985), was an American political scientist, who served as the president of the American Political Science Association from 1961 to 1962. At that time, he was a professor at Indiana University Bloomington.
Hyneman received his bachelor's degree in 1923 and his master's degree in 1925 from Indiana University and his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois in 1929. From 1928 to 1930, he was a lecturer in political science at Syracuse University before returning to the University of Illinois as an assistant professor from 1930 to 1937. He then became a professor at Louisiana State University. During World War II, Hyneman held various government positions. In 1947, he became a professor at Northwestern University, and in 1956, he moved to Indiana University, where he was appointed distinguished professor in 1961.
