Chamberland Commission

The Chamberland Commission was a public inquiry made by the Government of Quebec on November 11, 2016.

The commission investigated how at least eight journalists including Patrick Lagacé were spied on by police forces Sûreté du Québec and the Montreal police.

In the final report that was released on December 14, 2017, ran through 550 pages and offered more than twenty recommendations. Some proposals included new laws and other steps to prevent political interference in policing.
