Canadian Network for Innovation in Education

The Canadian Network for Innovation in Education (CNIE; ) is a national bilingual organization of professionals committed to excellence in educational innovation across Canada. Established in 2007 through the merger of the Association for Media and Technology in Education in Canada (AMTEC) and the Canadian Association for Distance Education (CADE), it serves as a pan-Canadian network for educators, researchers, and administrators.

Activities

The organization promotes research and advances practice in open and distance education and the use of educational technologies. Its activities include:

  • **Conferences:** Hosting an annual national conference that attracts approximately 150–200 educators and administrators.
  • **Awards:** Recognizing excellence in leadership and innovation through the AMTEC Trust Awards and CNIE Leadership Awards.
  • **Publications:** Publishing two major peer-reviewed journals: the Canadian Journal of Learning and Technology and the International Journal of E-Learning & Distance Education.
