Bythinella conica is a species of freshwater snail in the family Bythinellidae.
The length of the shell attains 2.5 mm, its diameter 1.3 mm.
(Original description in German) The shell is small and conical, terminating in a blunt apex; it is frequently encrusted with a coating of brown silt. There are five whorls that are fairly convex and separated by deep sutures. These whorls increase in size at a moderate pace, with the body whorl occupying slightly less than one-third of the total shell height.
The aperture is ovate, angled slightly toward the right, and tapers to a point at the top. The peristome (apertural margin) is sharp, not expanded, and continuous. Finally, the shell is "perforate", possessing a tiny, slit-like umbilical opening.
In 2012 Boeters and Knebelsberger proposed the following taxonomic classification for B. conica based on genetic analyses:
This species occurs in Germany and Austria.
