Buôn Đôn district

BuÃÂ´n ÃÂÃÂ´n is a rural district of ÃÂÃ¡ÂºÂ¯k LÃ¡ÂºÂ¯k province in the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. As of 2003, the district had a population of 56,238. The district covers an area of 1,414 kmÃÂ². The district capital lies at Ea Wer.

Name

Its original name is BÃÂn DÃÂ³n (BuÃÂ´n DÃÂ´n in Rhade language) from Laotian language, what means "the village of the isle". It is related with a small stone bund on Srepok River, where Laotian people have lived since XIX century.
