Bujeba also known as Bisio is a dialect of the Kwasio language spoken around Southern Bata and South of Rio Benito, in Equatorial Guinea.
Phonology
Consonants
- Other consonant sounds occur as palatalized /tò, dò, kò, áò/ and as labialized /Ã
Â÷/.
- Sounds /táÃÂ, dáÃÂ/ are sometimes realized as [tás, dáz] in free variation among speakers.
- Sounds /t, d/ are phonetically dental as [tê, dê].
- /á/ may also be heard as [ã] in free variation.
- Sounds /b, d, á/ may be lenited as [ò, þ, ã] in intervocalic positions.
- /l/ may also be heard as [r] in free variation.
- Sounds /káp, ááb/ are mostly heard from loanwords.
- A glottal stop [ÃÂ] may also be heard, however; it is not phonemic and is only heard phonetically at the end of words.
Vowels
- Vowels /i, e, o, u/ may also be heard as [ê, ÃÂ, ÃÂ, ÃÂ] in unstressed positions.
