Brian Burkheiser, also known as Scatterbrain, is an American singer. He is best known as the former co-lead vocalist for the band I Prevail.
Brian Burkheiser is from the state of Michigan, United States. He was born on April 6, 1993 in the Detroit suburb of Southfield.
Burkheiser was formerly the co lead singer and founder of the metalcore band I Prevail. founded in 2013. Part of his band's rise to fame involved a cover of Taylor Swift's hit "Blank Space" that was posted on YouTube and part of the Punk Goes Pop collection and listed as a song on the Heart vs. Mind EP.
After splitting from the band in May 2025, Burkheiser embarked on a new solo project called Scatterbrain, described on its web page as "a genre-bending project fueled by raw emotion, reinvention, and mental-health awareness". Owing to a legal dispute with I Prevail, he was unable to launch his solo project until February 5, 2026, when he announced the release of his first solo single, "Phases", on February 13.
Burkheiser has a rare medical condition called Eagle syndrome, which causes nerve pain in the face, neck and throat.
In 2019, Burkheiser underwent treatment for a large polyp in his throat. He has also received help for his depression.
