Brett Murray (born July 20, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey left wing who currently plays for the Nürnberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). He previously played for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Murray played for the Carleton Place Canadians of the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), where he won a league championship in the 2015âÂÂ16 season.
Murray led the United States Hockey League (USHL) in goals in the 2018âÂÂ19 season, scoring 41 for the Youngstown Phantoms. He was second in the league in points with 76, and was named to the league's First Team at the end of the season.
Murray joined the Penn State Nittany Lions at the beginning of 2017, spending the back half of 2016-17 and returning for 2017âÂÂ18 before returning to the USHL.
Murray was drafted in the fourth round, 99th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2016 NHL entry draft.
The Sabres signed him to a one-year AHL contract to play with the Rochester Americans in 2019âÂÂ20. The team then signed him to a two-year entry-level contract ahead of the 2020âÂÂ21 season.
Murray was signed to a one-year, two-way contract extension with the Sabres for the 2024âÂÂ25 season on July 1, 2024.
On October 16, 2025, Murray signed a one-year contract with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
