The Bamboo Forest, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, or Sagano Bamboo Forest is a natural bamboo forest in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. It consists mostly of mà Âsà  bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) and has several pathways for tourists and visitors. The Ministry of the Environment considers it a part of the soundscape of Japan.
Prior to 2015, there was a charge to access the forest.
The forest is not far from Tenryà «-ji temple, which is the headquarters of the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism, and the Nonomiya Shrine.
