Bacillus horikoshii is a obligate aerobe bacterium. It is a gram positive, alkaliphilic and alkalitolerant, aerobic endospore-forming bacteria.
This species has been recently transferred into the genus Sutcliffiella. The correct nomenclature is Sutcliffiella horikoshii.
