Bacillus aerius is a species of bacteria first isolated from cryogenic tubes used for collecting air samples from high altitudes, hence its name. Its type strain is 24K<sup>T</sup> (=MTCC 7303<sup>T</sup> =JCM 13348<sup>T</sup>).
