Babul Ka Angna

Babul Ka Angna () is a Pakistani television soap opera that aired on Geo Entertainment from 13 January to 16 May 2016, with a total of 106 half-hour episodes broadcast on weekdays. It was produced by Babar Javed, written by Mohammad Asif, and directed by Tehseen Khan. The show addresses social issues that are increasingly prevalent in Pakistani society.

Plot

The drama centres on Mehwish, a young and ambitious woman who aspires to continue her higher education and establish her own identity despite societal expectations. While her father supports her aspirations, her mother pressures her to get married in accordance with societal expectations. She marries a man named Haris, a wealthy and charming man who promises to support her goals after marriage, persuading her initially reluctant father to agree.

Shortly after the wedding, Haris suddenly dies. A widowed Mehwish returns to her parental home (her babul ka angna) where she encounters emotional and social hardships from family members, including her mother, sister, and aunt.

The series explores themes of societal expectations, family dynamics, gender roles, and resilience in the face of loss and social pressure.
